Info about Boy Omega
Boy Omega or if you wish Martin Henrik Gustafsson was born on the 9th of March in 1978, named after Martin Shivers, a soccer-player of Tottenham Hotspurs. Growing up his father used to take him and his brother Daniel to soccer-training in the small community Solberga in Småland, Sweden. While driving the kids he was listening to tapes with Rod Stewart, The Beatles, Dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen & Elvis Presley among several other ones. Everytime Martin listen to those tapes he can still feel the sunshine and the smell of fresh grass. The first record he ever bought was "Creatures of the night" by Kiss.
Later on he got his first pair of drumsticks from a neighbour and started to play on a chair with a red weaved seat. During his "practise" he made up records in his head, came up with bandnames and made drawings of what the band members might look like. At the age 12 Martin broke his right-leg one the soccer field. That summer in plaster he decided to give up his soccercareer to focus on music instead. Together with his friend Robert he formed "The Boys", heavy influenced by The Cure, New Order and Depeche Mode.
With 18 he moved to Uppsala, Sweden and soon after to Stockholm, where he worked in different factories and played, rehearsed, recorded and released some records with the bands Kubot and Labrador. In 2001 he started writing songs under the name Boy Omega. In January of 02 Martin moved to Gothenburg where he´s still living. His first full length record "I name you isolation" was recorded at two different studios in Gothenburg and in his apartment. Boy Omega often turns into an orchestra.
