Info about The Second Band
It's hard to define where the story about the second band begins since no one took it very serious in the beginning. In fact, the sole reason why this band ever came to exist was as an unpretentious and fun side project for the people involved. They just played what were in their hearts and minds.
It was really by a shear coincidence that two days of studio time appeared in short notice for almost no money. The band then gathered in the most shitty bar in town and got really drunk, It was during this night it was decided that the second band would be a real band and keep it's humble name, as a reminder not to take things so serious. The recordings went fine and sounded like a folk-pop album. Live gigs were then played and the song Song to Angel got some airtime on national radio and was described in the papers as a dream demo for every A&R to receive.
The band was starting to make a name for them selves and by the time of the first anniversary of the first demo the band went into the studio again. This time, with better songs, a new drummer, a trumpet player and a newly found interest for the piano. After two long days the What's up, Tiger lily? EP was a fact. Most of the Folk in the Folk pop had washed off and been replaced by a shade of country music. It was a great record in many aspects; energetic, innovative and filled with good melodies and living room poetry. The Second band had not taken a step forward but a leap. With the song Bellystings & Sunshowers they got a their fair share of airtime on national radio P3. The band was also featured with an interview and the song was said to be one of the definite pop songs of the year. The spring of 2005 has mostly been about trying to write new songs, rehearsing and trying to get some gigs. They are also doing a gig at Sweden's biggest music festival - Hultsfred. The future is looking bright for the Second Band, to say the least.
